Due to the reason that the golf carts offer less maintenance and actually no fuel

expense (for electric cart) over car and other automobiles, more and more people are now preferring the use of golf carts for their personal transportation needs as well. That means, if you have your own golf vehicle, you can use it to take a short drive across the town or can carry heavy loads on it when you are not using it on the golf course.

Thus, a golf cart serves for many purposes that too without the need for much replacement and maintenance. May be because of this reason, the carts are now being categorized as toys and not vehicles. But less maintenance does not mean that they do not need any sort of maintenance. In fact, it will have occasional needs for the replacement of cart batteries and tires. If your cart is running on batteries, then proper maintenance and care of these batteries are very crucial for the life expectancy of the carts. Regular checking for charge and the condition of the batteries are important if you wish to retain the money invested on your cart.

Though the replacement of the batteries are not needed regularly as most of the manufacturers provide about 1000 charges for their batteries, you will have to regularly check the condition of the battery for its long life. Battery maintenance includes adding water or acid to it to avoid drying at regular intervals. If the batteries connected to your electric cart are not sealed, then you will need to add a mixture of distilled water and acid so as to prevent it from becoming dry as it can cause fire at this condition.

This routine maintenance can be avoided if you have purchase a cart with a sealed golf cart battery that offers maintenance-free facility. If not sealed, you also have to check for the water levels of the cells regularly. You should immediately replace the damaged batteries. In order to normalize the level, add pure distilled water and remember not to overfill it as it can cause spilling of the fluids so that it can damage the components surrounding the battery.
