Abusing The So Called weaker Sex

Abusive relationships take toll in many of the lives of women

. The men who think that they are somewhat superior to the women take it for granted that abusing their wives is no big deal. Infact, it is hilarious to note that many men marry just for the fun of it and do not (rather, refuse) to consider their wives any part of their lives. Now the deeper question lies-why these women continue with the relationships even if they are abused. A survey will find varied answer to this question.

The most common answer to the question is the absence of choice in a womans life. Most of the women are of weak self-dignity and hence have very low self confidence. They think that their husbands are the life support systems they own. They do not come out of the idea that it is possible to live without their husbands. The husbands are the bread earners for most of the families. Women take care of the house and the children. If the women take the decision of leaving the husband, they think of no place to go to. Infact, they do not have any idea as to how they would look after their children. The fear of failure and smirks from family as well as friends also haunts the women. Staying on with their husbands will stop the taunts from society and the women would be left at peace.

The element of fear works at all stages of a womans life. It works on many folds instead of one. The fear first originates while they stay with the husband. They fear the abusive treatment that they will get from the husbands. Next comes the fear that comes from leaving the family, which amounts to fearing her life itself. There are also thoughts of staying alone, problem occurring if she falls ill, the various pressures that comes from the society, which lead to a woman staying on with her husband and are abused by him.

Financial problems haunt the women. The fact that they will have to earn to live always poses a problem and hence, is the main reason of continuing the relation. The heartless society does not see a self-supporting woman with good eyes. There are people who do not provide accommodation to women staying alone. There are people who even doubt the character of these women.

It is heart rendering to know the condition of women at such a degrading state even with the coming in of the modern world. The world and society should change the outlook and this will save the lives of millions of women who face abuse at home.
