1. Right click on My Network Places (if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7), then click on Network, select Map Network Drive.

2. Enter "\computer_namec$" into the text box if you want to access data from another computer's "C" drive, for instance. Replace "computer name" with the name of the computer. The "C" drive always has a dollar sign suffix.

3. Now click on Finish and double click on My Computer to verify that the download has completed or not. For Vista and Windows 7 the icon is called computer.

4. Now double click on New Mapped Drive. Now you can download file from the mapped drive to the local C drive. Now if you double click on the files, you can edit or read the files from the remote machine.
