Just similar to the M3 DS cartridge R4 DS also provides options to play multimedia with your Nintendo carte DS console. This menu will allow you to listen to songs, Watch movies view your pictures on the console itself. This way it amplifies the gaming experience and open up all the boundaries that stop you from enjoying the games in the complete ways.

It's worth noting that the Acekard 2i is backwards compatible with the regular Nintendo DS as well as the Nintendo DS Lite. It is, however, made to be compatible with Nintendo's newer consoles, the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL.

What's more, the M3 (provided you use the Sakura firmware, available in the downloads section) has an incredibly nice GUI, based off the popular home-brew Moon-shell. (A multimedia player) So it is essentially the same control scheme as an i Pod touch or i Phone, and can play Music and (DPG encoded) videos right off the bat.

So far, the fake iEdge displays behavior of a DSTT clone, but there is also speculation that it is an Acekard 2i clone. Needless to say, it is far less refined then a real iEdge card and has no guarantee of its stability or continued support.

The hidden SD card slot can be used to store those photos, play AAC audio, or store the downloadable applications from the DSi Shop. These applications, like the Moveable Notebook, take the hand held game console from a tool used to play games to a device used to make daily life better.

Though it is smaller, the screens on the Nintendo DSi are a little larger, the speakers are better, and there are five brightness settings for the screens as opposed to only four settings offered by the Nintendo DS Lite.
