As far as Acer is concerned, there are plans that the ARM laptop will not be released before announcement of Windows 8 by Microsoft. This was announced by Acer during the recent IFA last year. Acer is planning to wait until release of Windows 8 by Microsoft. This is because they think that consumers will not take ARM based laptops seriously before release of Windows 8 appears in the market.

Acer Windows 8 ARM laptops may be described as Acer ultrabooks during launch. As Intel owns the rights to the name 'Ultrabook' so, we may hear saying it is as an Acer MacBook Air or ARM Chromebooks. Among computer chip manufacturers, ARM Powered is the single disruptive threat to Intel, Apple and Microsoft etc. Another issue for Acer can be that Acer is concerned with lowering profit margins and lowering consumer expenses on Intel Powered Laptops and Desktops than other competitors.
