A nursing assistant is an individual, who is hired by many hospitals, clinics and health centers to take care of the patients and assist them with their routine activities. The individuals are selected by the employers on the basis of their qualification and CNA Certification. The certified applicants are preferred by the employers.

First of all, the students are required to obtain training in the field of nursing. This is required to enhance the skills that are needed to pass the certification exam of nursing.

After that, comes the competency evaluation or Certification test that consists of Written Test and Skill Test. The features of the certification exam are listed below:

Comprises of 2 levels, namely, a written test followed by a skill test

The duration of both tests are 5 hours.

Both tests can be completed within a day and it is essential to pass the written test in order to get promoted to the skill test.

While, the written test is meant for checking the basic nursing skills of the individuals, the skill test analyzes the specific knowledge of the applicants

At least, a score of 80% is essential for getting the Certification.

The test results are provided on the same day to candidates

Passing the CNA exam provides CNA Certification to the nursing assistants and hence they become certified nursing assistants

After completing their training, the students are required to appear in the CNA certification exam. If the student manages to pass the written test, he/she has to give another test, known as, performance test. In this test, the individuals are tested upon their acquaintance with the specific field information.

There are 25 specific skills of nursing out of which only 5 are asked in the examination.

A minimum of 80% score is essential to pass the certification exam of nursing
