Achieve Your Goals And Act In Spite Of Fear
One of the most common negative emotions that prevents people from achieving their goals is fear
. Although this may be true, one little known fact is that fear cannot exist in the presence of gratitude. Try it out. Next time you are fearful, automatically generate feelings of gratitude. When you choose to be grateful for things in your life, any fear and negative emotions that you have automatically leave. It is like flipping the light switch in a dark room. Increase the amount of light in a room and darkness immediately disappears.
Fear is sometimes explained as, "false evidence appearing real." What does that mean exactly? It means that a person has a choice to overcome fear through a number of strategies. With that being said, fear is a critical aspect in our lives. It is a survival mechanism created by the mind to protect us from danger. It is important to understand that we don't have to be ruled by feelings of fear in our lives. By taking the time to acknowledge all the things that we are grateful for, we are automatically able to overcome the fear because of the gratitude and love that has replaced it. You too can live your life in gratitude and courage despite the presence of fear.
Throughout the course of my life, I often face situations where I struggle with fear and negative emotions. To provide an example, I recently gave a speech in front of an audience of about 100 people at a family event. Before speaking, I was filled with fear and my mind was constantly freezing. Having remembered that fear cannot exist in the presence of gratitude, I immediately filled my mind with positive thoughts about all the things I was thankful for in life. I also thought about the reasoning for why I was giving the speech. The reason for the speech was out of love and a willingness to serve others during a family member's birthday banquet. Immediately after doing this exercise and filling my heart with love and gratitude, I delivered a dynamite speech that is still spoken about until this day. Next time you are struggling with an exercise or activity in your personal life or business, try this strategy out!

This process starts first thing in the morning upon waking up. When you wake up in the morning, say phrases like "Thank you" and "I love my life!". By incorporating these habits both in the morning and throughout your day, you begin to condition your mind for success.
