Acne Free Skin Care - How Well Does Your Formula Treat Lesions? by:Laurel Levine
Let's face it
Let's face it. There are many manufacturers that produce acne free skin care, but how well do these formulas actually work in treating unsightly lesions on the skin? Most products come backed by grand promises of the swift and complete elimination of acne lesions, with every company claiming superiority over the others. What is the real truth about these treatments?
The truth is that the majority of the topical treatments for eliminating lesions on the skin don't contain the right type of ingredients. These formulas are generally effective in getting rid of the bacteria that causes the inflammation leading to the formation of lesions on the skin, but the user generally pays a price. The results are generally not as fast as most companies would like for you to believe either.
Just about all of the topical acne free skin care formulas revolve around the use of benzoyl peroxide as a primary ingredient. This compound can be very effective in the elimination of the propionibacterium acnes, but it can be incredibly harsh. Most users of benzoyl peroxide formulas will experience irritation, reddening of the skin, dry patches, itching, and sometimes flaking of the skin.
To be honest with you, those people suffering with acne that have sensitive skin would be better off avoiding products that contain benzoyl peroxide in them. In extreme cases people have had to visit with their doctor, because of what has been described as damage that is comparable to a chemical burn. There is absolutely no reason why someone should have to go through something like this.
The reason that I say that is because an acne free skin care formula does not have to be harsh or even harmful in order to rid the skin of acne related lesions. For example, what sets off the chain of events that eventually leads to acne development is excessive oil bonding with dead skin cells to plug the follicles in your skin. Most acne formula use alcohols as a method of stripping the skin of excess oils.
Why expose your skin to drying alcohol, when sebum production can easily be controlled through the use of formulas that either contains Maracuja passion fruit extract, or Jojoba oil? Both of these compounds deeply moisturize the skin and provide necessary nutrients and antioxidants. They also guarantee that the sebaceous glands are neither over nor under producing oil.
Jojoba oil is an excellent compound for acne free skin care, because it is extremely effective in reducing the inflammation the P. acnes bacteria causes. Other natural compounds that also significantly reduce acne causing inflammation in the skin are Shea butter, Babassu wax, and Phytessence Wakame kelp extract. The main thing is getting rid of the offending bacteria that cause the inflammation in the first place.
Bottom line, active Manuka honey is by far the most powerful antibacterial compound you are ever going to find in an acne free skin care formula. By finding a product that combines Manuka honey and some of the other ingredients previously mentioned, you will possess a potent anti acne formula that causes no negative side effects. That's a formula I would buy.
