Acne can strike at any age. Acne is a condition that includes oily skin, blemishes, blackheads, and whiteheads. Effective acne treatments are sometimes expensive, or hard to understand. Here are some acne treatment tips that have worked for many.
Ance, although not really considered an illness, can be uncomfortable and painful. Scientists have always argued about the actual cause of acne. However, the many theories that have been served was not as important as finding a cure. There are cures for acne. However, certain methods work for certain people due to the genetic properties and some do not work as well. Many products target specific causes of acne and if your acne does not fit the targeted type, it might not work for you.
You will need some time to test the product though, as most off the shelf products do not boast of an overnight cure. Some works in a matter of days, and some might take up to 8 weeks before you see any significant improvement to your skin tone, so you might have to be patient. Once you see improvement, it is important to keep the treatment going so that your acne does not return.
For better results, you may try consulting a dermatologist. However, consultation is usually so much expensive that you might want to try keeping it under control yourself first. Try these tips to treat your acne.
Reducing Stress
Stress can be a contributing factor to acne so try to relax. Stress causes chemical reactions in the body, which can cause an outbreak. Try to take up some hobbies to take your mind off things that are stressing you and keep a healthy mind.
Cosmetics
Avoid oil free products, coal tar derivatives, and heavy creams, choose cosmetics that are water based and hypo-allergenic. Make sure you wash your skin thoroughly every night to remove makeup residue and moisturize your skin religiously.
Exfoliating your skin
Exfoliating your skin once in a while will keep your skin subtle and less lightly to have dead skin build-ups. This process will also allow the skin to "breathe" easier, making it healthier.
Exercise
Regular exercise is a great start to fighting acne as it helps to keep your whole body in shape. It builds your immune system and helps eliminate toxins from the body.
Diet
You need to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables daily. Fresh fruit and vegetables are full of nutrients and vitamins that your body needs. They boost the immune system and are good antioxidants, helping you get rid of acne. Drinking plenty of water is also important to keep your skin hydrated and flush your system of toxins.
I have lived by the above advice myself. And although I do get outbreaks every now and then I follow the steps and it will be clear in a few days. However, do remember that not every method works for everyone, but do not assume the method does not work and give up too early! Like I said some methods will take time to show results.
