Growing old does not mean that people lose their independence

While it is sometimes hard to do the things that were once easier, the chores and responsibilities of running a house do not have to take their toll or detract from the enjoyment of a full and complete life. While things like mowing the grass or even preparing a meal might only be uplifting to the avid gardener or master chef, having time to spend chatting with friends or relaxing in the pool is more along the lines of what senior citizens want when they are past the age of retirement.

With as much independence as they desire the senior community is looked after by caring professionals who can be as interactive and helpful as needed or as quiet and out of the way as the residents of the apartment complex want.

Knowing that there are activities and places where they can congregate and interact with others while maintaining the privacy and dignity of managing their own living quarters, the elder generation can depend on being provided for and always have someone to visit with them who will share their stories and listen to them recount the days before cell phones and the internet, when Las Vegas was in its hay-day and had regulars like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis and the rest of the Rat Pack entertaining the audiences at the Dunes or the Sands hotels.

With the patience and exemplary services of a staff of cooks, maids, nurses, and attendants that provide whatever help is needed, living in an assisted care facility is more like having an apartment in one of the luxury hotels that line the strip. With a pool, dining room, and recreational areas for bringing people together, being a senior citizen in Las Vegas has its benefits. While still be able to drive and go out to a restaurant or spend some time at the slot machines of a local casino anyone that has tired of doing everything for themselves can maintain a level of independence that they are comfortable with and be able to rely on a helping hand for the things that either do not want to do, or can no longer do anymore.
