Acura backup sensors are mainly used for car parking and movement in the reverse direction. Many of us who drives the car know that driving the car in reverse direction is very difficult and mostly it causes some accidents. This accident may be of hitting an obstacle that came in the way while driving in the reverse direction. Backup sensor system is automatically activated when we apply reverse gear of our car. The back lights of the car are lightened which also powers the backup sensor system. Backup sensor system gets its power from one of the rear lights. These small sensors are fitted at the back of the car that senses the coming obstacle in the way. When we put our car in the reverse gear, the system gets started and gives a full one minute beep indicating that the system is working properly. Acura backup sensor when sense something they send ultrasonic radio waves in the form of beep. This beep is received at the panel that is fitted in front of the driver. These radio waves bounce back off the obstacle and alert the driver to stop. The internal panel consists of a buzzer that sounds louder and louder as the vehicle approaches the obstacle. When there is a constant tone, it indicates that the distance remained is just one feet.

Acura back up sensor system consist of a central control processor that controls all the activity of the whole system. Central control processor coordinates with all the sensors attached and gives result to the user in the form of beep or a constant tone depending upon the remaining distance. 2 or 4 sensors are included in the package with are being attached at the rear part of the vehicle. These sensors must be installed at a distance of 16" to 32" above the ground in order to get efficient results. According to a research that the sensors installed at 20" above the ground give best results. The reason of mounting the sensors at this level is because if we mount the sensors too low or non-vertical towards the ground, then may detect ground giving false indication of the obstacles. Non vertical installation is due to some non vertical bumper. These sensors must be kept clean from dirt, mud, snow and the things which can stick over them. If the sensors are not clean they will give false indications because the distance calculation made by the sensor will go wrong. LED bulbs are used in these car alarm system.

Acura backup sensor system includes as internal buzzer and an LED used for indication. As the distance between the obstacle and car start decreasing, the buzzer starts beeping and the frequency of the buzzer keep on increasing as the vehicle gets closer and closer to the object in the way. When the distance is decreased to only 1 ft then the buzzer gives a constant tone. The LED attached continues blinking along with the buzzer and when the buzzer gives a constant tone, the LED also give a constant light.

The main advantage of the Acura backup sensor system is that the driver get exact information of the object behind and can park the vehicle with ease without creating any accident.
