Larry is a 28 years old man. For the past 22 years, he had worn eye glasses. Besides, he has eye allergies, which make his eyes be easily irritated. It is a hot Wednesday night in July. It was Larrys turn to bat. The score is 3-3. It was the last round of the seventh, the final inning of the softball games, and his team had two outs. If he made a hit, his team would win, and otherwise they would lose the game. He stepped to home plate, stood on it waiting for the pitch. Under the fluorescent buzz lights of the softball diamond, Larry felt himself like Robert Redford. The bases were loaded. Larry fouled the first pitch. He became nervous, and sweat dripped down his forehead. On the second hitting, he swung but missed. Two strikes! He heard the sound of his breathing feeling hard to lift his shoulders. The third pitch came: BAM, the baseball struck him right in the face which made him fell backwards. Will it a repeat of last season? Thanks to the astigmatism contact lenses which took the place of glasses, he won his team the game with a shiner.
