However, as an article on Boosh News points out, there are a number of issues consumers should bear in mind when they jet off with laptop chargers.

The news source stated: "Many or most laptops already have a power cord and adapter that's just about ready for international use.

"This is the cable with the rectangular black box situated somewhere along its length. Most of these cables can accept voltages from 100 to 240 volts, which will allow you to use electricity from pretty much anywhere."

But it may not be possible to use laptop power supplies in other countries without one further piece of equipment, it noted.

Individuals might not be able to plug in their chargers when they arrive at their destination unless they have invested in an adapter for the plugs in the country.

These differ between nations and so doing some research on the issue before heading abroad is often necessary.

Those who leave it until the last minute may still be able to get the necessary adapters as often they are sold in airports.

Meanwhile, in further words of advice, Boosh News remarked: "For each device you have, other than your laptop, check its power cable and determine if you need to purchase any other adapters or charging devices."

Arriving in a different country and discovering it is not possible to charge laptops because of a lack of the necessary equipment can be problematic and may even result in business deals being lost in some cases.
