Adding Feng Shui With Color

You've probably heard a lot of good things about feng shui and finally decided to use this technique for decorating your home

. Feng shui is basically about optimizing the flow and passage of chi - the life force for the ancient Chinese - by arranging or creating the exterior and interior of a property. When currents of good chi can flow freely into and through a home, it's said to bring health, wealth and prosperity to all members of the household.

Floor cushions are a great idea as well to use your existing and retired area rug. These are extra seating areas for children or just decor which you can place in the family room or near the fireplace.

Feng Shui color choices need to be used properly to make sure your Feng Shui method is correct in your style. For example, a bedroom is for rest and a family room is to entertain and make it seem inviting so you'd have to base your color scheme off of those ideas and concerns. Darker colors are usually the way to go for the relaxation feel but too much might seem uncomfortable to others. In the family room or the entertainment area which you design many colors are able to bring into this space since color brings energy to a location.

Many stores sell great rug mounts for walls or you can just use a standard window rod to place your area rug on display. If you don't want to attach anything directly onto the wall try placing this wonderful rug over a banister or even placed over a couch like a throw blanket. It will give the room your own unique style.

If you have a larger space and you combine a few room designs such as an office and a living room, try using area rugs to break the room apart to make it their own space. Make sure if you decide to head into this direction that the rugs at least compliment each other. They don't necessarily have to be the same rug but at least in the same texture and color scheme.

Feng Shui has been around for quite some time and now has been used in our century to bring back the positive energy flow in many homes. This is a great selling method to some if they are interested in a home which doesn't feel negative to them once they enter. Make sure to choose your decor on the feel as it gives you when you see it in the store. If it's a positive feel and it's a cozy piece, it would work perfectly in your new Feng Shui design.
