There are many things to do in Atlanta as it is a very populous city in the South with many famous people coming from it
. One thing you can do is visit where these famous people have come from such as early jazz musician Ray Charles.

Some famous country singers from the area include Jerry Reed, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Mark Wills, Trisha Yearwood, Sugarland, Luke Bryan, TheLost Trailers, Billy Currington, Jason Aldean and Zac Brown. This is quite a lengthy list from the southern area.
Particularly in the past few years, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, Sugarland and Jason Aldean have really found success. They have all been featured on "Wow, that's what I call country" soundtrack series for country music lovers.
The south is known for its country rhythms and beautiful outdoor views. These famous country singers are great representations of the rural area in and around Georgia.
It remains to be seen just how far their careers will take them, but so far, they have come out of the gates with a storm. Atlantans just hopes they will remember where they came from.

Where to start? Have you ever heard of Gladys Knight and the Pips, a popular music act from a few years ago?
This is just one R&B group from the area, but a talented and successful bunch indeed. Though they are not together anymore, Gladys Knight has sung on many recent special occasions and with many other famous groups like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
To name a few more, there is The Dream, Akon, Blind Willie McTell, The Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, Beyonce Knowles, Ciara, 112, Kelly Rowland, India Arie, Raven Symone, Blaque and Bobby V. However, the list does not stop there, but it will pause.
Beyonce and Kelly Rowland have gained much fame beyond singing to date. They were in a group together called Destiny 's Child, but then they split to form solo careers and even extra interests like fashion lines and perfumes for Beyonce.
Also, Ciara and Akon can be heard on the radio on any given day. Their success is outstanding.
To continue the list, there is Cherish, TLC, Sleepy Brown, Usher (who is not from Atlanta, but spent some of his teenage years there before his career took off), Johnta Austin, Ne-Yo, Monica, B5, Keyshia Cole, Keri Hilson, Dear Jayne, RichGirl, Otis Redding, Little Richard and Xscape. This concludes the R&B portion.
Stars like TLC, Ne-Yo and Little Richard should all sound familiar to someone as they are all spread out from different time periods. Little Richard was the first of the group, leaving TLC to work the 1990s with their soulful sounds.
Ne-Yo is a leading R&B artist currently with sultry dance moves and a smooth voice. Add it to his inspirational lyrics and catchy beats and you have got some great music to dance to.
Other famous Pop artists include the Indigo Girls, Brenda Lee, John Mayer, Shawn Mullins, Evan and Jaron, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, David Berkeley and the latest pop sensation Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber is originally from Canada, but got his career up and running in Atlanta.
Additionally, many famous Jazz artists like Ray Charles, Duke Pearson and Mary Lou Williams are also from the area. Atlanta and the south in general have greatly influenced jazz and blues music starting with early sounds coming from the slave trade.
The combination of immigrants, slaves and locals have come together to produce great music and a great love for music. Come to Atlanta to see what it is all about.
