Usually the symptoms of adrenal insufficiency begin gradually. The common symptoms of adrenal insufficiency are chronic, worsening fatigue, muscle weakness, loss of appetite and weight loss. Other symptoms of adrenal insufficiency includes nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, low blood pressure, dizziness or fainting, irritability, depression, craving for salty foods, hypoglycemia, low blood glucose, headache, sweating and absent menstrual periods.

Adrenal insufficiency can be treated with medications also. Florinef is a medicine used for the treatment of adrenocortical insufficiency in Addison disease.
