My friend Carol is a travel agent. I don't know that I ought to refer to her as my friend really. We just chat at the bar every Friday night whilst her husband talks to his mates about golf and my wife talks to her friends about raising happy children, diets and healthy living. The paradox is that her husband is absolutely awful at golf, our teenage kids are forever complaining, my wife never loses any weight and she is constantly at death's door suffering from some minor ailment or other.

However, I digress. This Friday Carol was very excited. She has discovered a way to communicate directly with some owner/skippers of some classic yachts operating in the Adriatic. What she is doing is assembling parties to take weekly charters of a yacht, or Gulet as they are known in the eastern Mediterranean. This shows what a sharp business mind she has. This is a niche market and she has a ground floor opportunity when there is no competition. She is intending to chat with her clients about what they want to do then negotiate with the skipper to organise the cruise.

Everyone wins. The skipper gets a lot of clients without paying any commission. The clients get a cruise that they could not afford as individuals and Carol receives a fee from the clients for organising the cruise.

On Friday she said that she would like to go on a cruise herself, but her husband wants to spend his vacations playing golf. She has nobody to go cruising with. I sympathised saying that all my wife ever wants is to spend time at some highly expensive health spa whilst I stay at home. Carol wasn't listening. She said "I could spend a whole week wearing nothing but a bikini, lazing in the sun, eating good food and drinking good wine. Can you imagine it?" I said that the thought had crossed my mind once or twice.

A sudden twinkle came into her eye. She moved very, very close to me and whispered "We could do it, couldn't we?" I think I'm going on a cruise in the Adriatic this year and I also think that I am going to be a very naughty boy.
