Acne is often regarded as a teenager problem, however there are many adults who also suffers from what is termed adult acne
. Adults in their twenties and beyond can still experience acne, and the negative effects of stress adds to the strain of experiencing an acne breakout.
Studies show that mental stress can be a major cause in the cause of acne in adults. Women are also likely to suffer from adult acne because they are more exposed to stress which they experience throughout their daily lifestyle. They are also prone to hormonal imbalances, especially during menstruation and during pregnancy.
The environment is another factor in causing adult acne. If your surroundings are dirty or dusty, the dust will be carried through the air and eventually land on your face. If left unwashed dust and dirt can clog up your pores and cause them to become infected them making the pore become inflamed.
Just like teen acne, the best treatment that you can use is by maintaining proper skin care and healthy personal hygiene. Take a bath or shower everyday, and use a mild soap only so that your acne wont develop into an infection.
You also need to watch your diet. Drink enough water and avoide eating too many oily foods. You can help towards promoting health skin by eating more fruits and vegetables.
Make sure that you get enough sleep and rest. It has been shown that when sleeping our skin has chance to revitalise itself, also getting plenty of rest and sleep will help you to relaxe and releive any stress you may be suffering from.
Your lifestyle is an important factor in the cause of adult acne as well. Drinking too much alcohol will dehydrate your body including your skin. The more damage you cause to your skin will give acne bacteria an ideal place to take hold.
If you suffer an outbreak of acne you can of course use an acne cream or medication, but prvention is a much better option.
