Most dish systems allow you to watch only what you want to watch and record shows so that you can watch them whenever you want. This has greatly improved the way people watch and enjoy tv.

It used to be that to watch a movie on television you had to wade through probably about 20 minutes of commercials. Now with tv recording systems you can watch what you want when you want. And because they aren't being viewed in real time, you can fast forward commercials. A whole new generation of tv watchers are coming up that probably won't even know what a commercial break is. Because of this shift many advertisers are trying out new kinds of marketing other than tv.

A lot of people are also watching more and more shows on the internet. There are many sites that allow you to watch your favorite shows for free with either just a few commercial breaks or none at all. Watching shows online is very convenient for people who don't have access to a tv all day. People on offices and other types of work setting can now enjoy all their favorite programs at lunch on their computers. People can watch the news online and not have to wait to see it in the evening at home. Entertainment and news is becoming more and more accessible every year.

Watching tv used to be a lot different than it is now. Waiting for a show to come on or sifting through long commercial breaks is becoming a thing of the past. Most every one has dish network system or a digital recording device at home so they can catch all their favorite programs whenever they want. In the next few years and decades things will progress even farther and who knows what technological advances will be made in the area of home entertainment. Technology companies are working hard to be the first out with the latest and greatest in television programming and recording devices. The future will bring a lot of amazing technology.
