All along we had been thinking that candy and soda would damage the teeth and develop cavities but now these artificial sweeteners like saccharin have been found to be not only good for the teeth but also prevent tooth decay. There have been numerous health concerns regarding artificial sweeteners since 1970 and some were doubted to cause cancers. But research has proved artificial sweeteners that are FDA approved does not cause cancer or any other health problems.

People should be aware of their artificial sweetener intake as some may think that turning to these sweeteners makes them completely immune to weight gain and they subconsciously consume more food or food with higher calorie intake. These foods may have other ingredients that contain calories. So it is advisable to be conscious while taking artificial sweeteners and also one should consume them in moderate amounts.
