When you finally set a date to go out for the first time, you find that you feel apprehensive or nervous, and thats when you find yourself looking to embellish the truth about yourself just a little bit.

Well, dont. Honesty is very important in any relationship. Read over the advantages of being truthful to your date on your first date and youll agree for sure.

1. Dont be afraid to impress, but impress for the right reasons

Sure, youre always going to want the person that youre with to view you with awe and admiration, but if youre doing it because you feel like they wont be interested otherwise, then youre not off to a very good start. Youre always going to feel that need to be able to one-up yourself, and it will get tiring in time.

2. Get a good first impression

Keep those good things about you that you like about yourself in mind, and bring those to the forefront. Dont worry if your date doesnt like those same things about you; if youre trying to find true love, its those very same attributes that this person needs to love and admire about you.

3. Lying requires a lot of thinking

Lying, compared to saying the truth, requires more brain activities. Not only do you need to make up a good lie (if youre going to lie, might as well make it a good one), but youre going to need to keep this lie in mind every time youre with this person lest you want to trip over your own lies.

4. Gain his/ her trust

Friendships built on sincerity are more likely to turn into a serious relationship. Trust is just as important as love and respect. Trust is something that can be earned even on the first date, and if youre looking for true love, youre going to want to be honest and open about yourself.

5. Strengthen your confidence

Being true to yourself shows how you respect your identity. Knowing your challenges and improving your personality would get others attracted to you and would like you as you like yourself.

6. Be less burdened

Again, you dont have to be THE perfect partner on the first date. Dont worry if there are things that you both dont like, or if there are things that you might find just a little bit peculiar about each other. Variety is the spice of life!

You can find true love anywhere, even on the first date. Just be wary and safe when meeting strangers. You might not get your lifetime partner on that first date, but meeting someone that would make you smile and laugh is always lifes simple pleasures.
