Copper is one of the most useful metal which is abundantly in the nature

, it is extracted from the mines, usually mixed with other metal ores. To extract the pure copper from the mixed ores, there are many purification and separation processes are evolved. Copper wire is the most useful form of copper which is used in the existing world today. Apart form the wire copper is also used in decorative items.

Copper wire is a good conductor of electricity hence it is the first preference in manufacturing any electric or electronic appliance. The ductility and malleable properties make it an ideal metal for the electronic use. Copper wires are available in different amperes and voltages.

The single copper wire is generally used in low voltage like sound speakers, fuse and giving conductivity, where as the bunch of wires are used for higher voltage. Sometime braided copper wire is used for the specific purpose. As we all know that the electric current flown in the form of electrons which flow on the outer surface of the conductor, therefore if the surface area of the wire is increased then the flow of electron or the amount of electricity can be increased. For the same cause braided or bunch of wires are used for conducting heavy voltage, generally it is used in the commercial purposes.

Copper is a metal like other metals hence it is oxidized when comes in contact with air and moisture, hence to prevent it plastic and other insulators are used. One such insulator is glass. Glass is the best insulator and glass wire is used in the specific geographical locations where climatic conditions are extreme or in the appliances in which the temperature changes tremendously. To protect the wire from melting due to heavy temperature coating of glass is done.

Tin is comparatively robust metal hence tin coating is done to give strength to the copper wire. The coating of tin is done through tow ways, one of them is electrolytic process where the copper wire is passed through chemical and the coating is done electronically. It is the best process for getting the best results. In this process the thickness of layer of tin is set as per the requirement. Tin coated copper wire is easily available in the market. Usually tin coated copper wire is used where the wire has to cover the longer distance.

The wire is coated to prevent the leakage of current and also to keep it isolate. For this purpose plastic is one of the best substance that is used widely in the domestic purpose. Plastic is not only less expensive but also it is coated easily hence the overall cost of the copper wire does not increase.
