In other words 22 years of 50 % operation and 11 years of 100 percent operation. We must consider the fact that the average life of an incandescent lamp id about 5000 hours. If we are opting for LED we dont have to change to lamp frequently and we can save a much amount of time.

The cost factor is another thing that makes us feel the LEDs are so much better than the incandescent lamps. In case of big structures the lighting cost will be so big. If we replace ordinary lamps with LED lamps we can get a lot of profit and spend that money for other better purposes.

Another important advantage of the LED is its power consumption. If the design is proper an Ordinary LED can achieve up to 80 percent efficiency, remember its 10 to 15 percent is the case of alternative lighting sources. In LED only 20 percent of the supplied power is lost as heat.

LEDs provide us with a lot of options. They are available in a variety of colors. As we know the white light is or can be produced by mixing the 3 basic colors red, blue and green. Similarly if we mix the lights of a red, blue and green LED we can obtain the effect of white light. We can produce several other colors with the selective combination of these three basic LEDs. It is estimated that more than 16.7 million different colors can be produced by using LED.

Recently a company has manufacture a fixture which contained different set of LEDs. This fixture can be controlled via a computer. We can create as many color combinations as we wish by the help of these fixtures.

The popularity of LEDs is becoming increasing day by day. People are seriously considering energy conservation as a global requirement and doing the best they can to ensure our future generation will survive in the planet with ease.
