If you don't live in your apartment it's probably forbidden to paint the walls, but that's not a problem at all. You could buy a length of some elegant inexpensive textile from a sewing store and drape it from chic hooks, then finish the new look, adding pictures or paintings.

The changing of the knobs on cabinets or dresser drawers will give you brand new feeling in your home. You should do the same with the light switch plates and curtain rods as well, and after this, the good thing is that you can take them with yourself if you move out from this apartment.
