Affiliate marketing is not only regarded as a way of earning money by the affiliates and the way of advertising by the merchants, but it is also regarded as the important source of profits and revenues. Different types of affiliate business internet programs are being followed by marketers and the most common programs are Pay-Per-Performance and Pay-Per-Click. There are other types like Pay-Per-Sales and Pay-Per-Lead as well. Some information regarding these types are given below:
* Pay-Per-Click: This type of affiliate marketing program is also called as PPC and this is regarded as the easiest way to make money. Here, the affiliate will be paid by the merchant for every click generated from the website of the affiliate (i.e.) if a visitor clicks the banner belonging to the merchant, the merchant will pay the affiliate.
* Pay-Per-Performance: This is also called as PPP and is famous among the merchants. Here, the merchant will pay the affiliate only when some sales are generated out of the referrals (i.e.) the affiliate will be paid only when the visitor purchases something from the merchant
* Pay-Per-Sale: This program is also called as PPS and this program enables the affiliate to get payment from the merchant every time a product is sold to the referrals of the affiliate.
* Pay-Per-Lead: In short PPL, is similar to that of PPS, but it pertains to companies that depend on leads like real estate agencies and law firms.
There are three other types as well and they are single-tier, two-tier and multi-tier affiliate business internet program.
* Single-tier refers to a situation when PPC, PPL and PPS are paid to the affiliate only when direct traffic or sale has been referred to the merchant.
* Under two-tier plan payment is made to the affiliate not only for direct referrals, but also for the traffic referred by some other affiliates who joined the program with the help of recommendation.
* Multi-tier is also called as residual income where the affiliate is paid when the customer who was referred by him returns again for purchasing some more products from the merchant.
