The world of affiliate marketing through the advertiser's door it's time to consider just exactly how you plan to get those affiliates to sell your product over all the other products they have to choose from. Of course, money always talks loudest. But there are other things that affiliates are looking for, too.

Commission -

Pay them as much commission as allowed by the affiliate network you're using. If they'll allow it, pay your affiliates 100%. Yes, I said 100%. You want your affiliates working as hard as possible to promote your product because if you're any kind of internet marketer at all you know the money is in the back-end sales - NOT that initial sale that the affiliates are handling for you. The only thing you need out of that initial sale is a list of targeted, interested buyers.

Competition -

It helps if you happen to be the only one on the internet with a particular product. While that's not always possible, you should at least make sure your product has it's own unique twist. Something that makes it stand out from the others - and not just the price.

Promotional items -

When you have that shiny, new website designed, have the designer also make several different sized banners - and include the coding so all the affiliate has to do is paste in his nickname. Include all the standard sizes and some unique items like peel-aways, roll-ups and pop-ups, too. Every affiliate has a different method of marketing and you want them to have everything they need.

Email promotions -

When you're having those articles written have the writer also set up an email campaign for your affiliates to use - a campaign with 2 or 3 alternate messages so everyone isn't sending the same one.

Blog posts, articles and websites -

The more you give your affiliates to work with, the harder they'll work for you. Give them blog posts that they can spin or re-write for their blogs. Give them articles that they can use for directory submissions for backlinking. Give them a website to use so buyers will recognize your brand no matter what site they end up on. All of these items only cost you a one time payment and you can set them up for download so all of your affiliates can easily promote your product the way YOU want it to be promoted.
