There are 5 basic steps in being persuasive:

1. Understand who your market are

2. Create a message that is about your market


3. Communicate with clarity the benefits of taking the recommended action

4. Provide evidence to support your suggestion

5. Be focused on asking for one action in your request

So let's look at those points in a little more detail so that you can apply them to your affiliate marketing efforts successfully:

Your Market. It's critical that you understand who your target market is. What do they like, what don't they like and what are their biggest concerns? Perhaps they have their own 'language' that they use and are being influenced by publications and internet sites that they read. You need to know enough about your market to be able to think like them.

Your message. Your marketing message needs to be written in a way that your market can relate to. Tell them that you understand their frustrations by including that in the content. Write your message in a conversational tone and use the words 'You', 'Your' and 'You're' and less of the 'we' and 'I'.

The benefits. In your copy you need to add very clear benefits as to why the reader should do what you are suggesting. He is going to buy based on the benefits so write them with clarity so that the reader can visualise what it will be like once they have purchased your service or product. The evidence. Using statistics, facts and testimonials are going to help you out here with building credibility for your affiliate marketing product. Without evidence you would have a hard time convincing your visitor to take you up on your offer. Photos of people enjoying your product or service can work well.

One message only. If you introduce too many messages then you're going to have a hard time with adding your supporting evidence. Stick to one message per copy and you won't dilute it by bringing in other ideas.
