This can include a re-emergence of oily skin and even some major acne breakouts; while others will experience dry skin for the first time. More than just a nuisance, aging and skin greasiness can become a real problem if you've never had to deal with this type of skin before. After all, who wants to worry about breakouts now?

Here are a few tips to follow for dealing with aging and skin greasiness:


Be kind to your skin. Use the gentlest of cleaners, creams, and lotions. Avoid detergent based products and anything containing paraben preservatives or other chemicals. Instead, opt for milk-based products that feel soft and creamy. They'll soothe your skin while helping to replenish the right balance of oils on your skin.

Avoid scrubbing the skin. This can be irritated, plus it can make your skin react by producing even more oils.

Stay out of the sun. Nothing damages skin more than dangerous UV rays, so be sure to use a sunscreen, hat and glasses whenever outdoors.

Find a good moisturizer. It may sound crazy to add moisture to your skin when it already feels greasy, but remember, you're adding moisture, not oil. But, be sure to use all natural ingredients no mineral oils!

Eat a well-balanced diet. It may sound strange that the foods you eat could keep your skin healthy, but it can. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and a good mix of proteins and amino acids to ensure that your hormones stay in check and your skin has the right nutrients to balance its own oils. Also stay away from junk foods that may irritate the skin or put your oil production glands into overdrive.

When it comes to aging and skin greasiness, the good news is it won't last long. Before you know it, your skin will be suffering the opposite problem: dryness. As we reach our late 40s and begin to creep into our 50s, our skin tends to shut down its oil glands, thus causing a whole new set of problems. So, if you suddenly find yourself suffering with oily skin, rest assured, all will soon change yet again.
