Aikido : One Of The Famous Japanese Martial Art

Aikido is a Japanese martial art (budo), founded by Morihei Ueshiba between 1930 and 1960

. Aikido was officially recognized by the Japanese government in 1940 under the name daikibuda. It was created from experience that its founder had the teaching of Koryu (ancient martial arts schools), mostly ju-jitsu school Daito Ryu, kenjutsu(Japanese swordsmanship) and Aikijutsu. Aikido is born of the encounter between these fighting techniques and a metaphysical reflection on the meaning Morihei Ueshiba practice martial in the modern era.

Aikido consists of techniques with weapons and empty hand using the force of the enemy, or rather his aggressiveness and his willingness to harm. These techniques are not intended to defeat the opponent, but his attempt to reduce aggression to zero. Aikido can be seen as the realization of the concept of self-defense: a proportionate response to aggression and immediate. In fact, in the spirit of aikido, there is no fighting, since it ends just when it starts. According to this logic, there is no competition in aikido except the style founded by Kenji Tomiki Shodokan (and thus also called Tomiki ryu School Tomiki).

Aikido is practiced by women and men of all sizes and ages. The goal of practice is to improve, grow (technically, physically and mentally) in the right mood (Morihei Ueshiba was very insistent on this point). Are shown as respecting the technical partner . Particularly complex, its use in actual combat requires a high level of practice. Moreover, if the techniques were still based on classical lacademy, they were adapted to a combative style. Laikido does therefore not a means to learn to fight but can prepare both physically (flexibility, speed, muscle), mentally (stay calm under all circumstances) and technically (keep a safe distance, find the opening, stand, handle multiple simultaneous attacks) in the event of attacks of all kinds (not just attacks codified).

There are different styles of aikido meet different aspirations. The most common style is initiated by the son of the founder, Kisshomaru Ueshiba, known as the style of Aikikai. However, to understand different lexistence takes off, we must take into account the fact that the founder of lakido this martial art created and developed throughout his life.

Changes in techniques sest made up to the death of Morihei Ueshiba who had many followers and disciples who then spread the art aikido dun ever changing. The founder's son who received only temporarily lenseignement that his father never ceased to offer to others, does not necessarily practice the same technique as the other disciples. It is true of other masters, which explains the different schools. This nest especially not a sport but a way of grasping lhomme . Even sil was a patriotic soldier and brilliant, the founder of aikido was also a pacifist, although there are some controversies on the subject .

The founder of aikido would not hear of competition . The emphasis is on complete development of the individual. During classes, students observe the teacher demonstrate a technique and then work with a partner to replicate. They thereby improve their technique and understanding of art. Movement, positioning, precision and rhythm are all important aspects in the implementation of technology. Students also gain in flexibility and adaptation in applying them.

Aikidokas train by two. The "attacker (uke, literally" one who accepts that fall ", also known aite , literally" one who lends his hand ") triggers an attack against the" defender "(tori" [one] that captures ", also called shi and sometimes swims" [one] that projects "or shite" he who runs "), which neutralized with an aikido technique.

In general, the technique is studied as follows: Professor shows the motion, then the partner uke attacks tori four times (twice on each side: left and right alternately), then the partners change roles for 4 new attacks and so on. When several movements have been seen from a single attack, the teacher can work in "free technique" (Jiyu waza): roles uke and tori do not change, uke gets up after every move and immediately rattaque tori applying the technique he wants, placement and movement of the body as well as endurance (cardiovascular) are then worked. Sometimes tori uke is beset by many, to work the answer to an attack group (this work is called randori though it is different from MMA practiced in judo).

The end of the Second World War saw a gap in the teaching of all Japanese martial arts and aikido was the first, in 1948, to reopen the doors of his dojo. Having always viewed her art as a gift to humanity, Morihei Ueshiba did everything in his power, for he knew that the Japanese, to promote Aikido internationally by sending emissaries to several European countries as well as 'in the Americas and opening its doors to foreigners who wanted to practice in Japan.
