Substances like desiccant materials are capable of adsorbing water vapor from the atmosphere. They are utilized by making them into rotor forms wherein in between the layers of flat sheets and corrugated sheets, the desiccant material is incorporated which in turn makes air channels in the structure. Through the channels, air flows and thus the moisture is taken in by the desiccant, thus removing the humidity from the air.

Since the desiccants works well in cold temperatures like sub-zero temperatures thus when they are to be used for higher temperatures mainly in industries, the air is first cooled so as to employ it to dehumidification with the desiccant rotors. Desiccants are the perfect materials for the dehumidification process.

Electronic dehumidifiers are also popularized in the recent times wherein they are built with peltier heat pumps which have the ability to allow the humidity to condense on to the cool surface. They are referred to as soundless machines are simple and cost-effective devices.

Air conditioners can be made into makeshift dehumidifiers as they cool the air and also take care of the accumulated water. The major difference which arises between these two devices is that in an air conditioner the air is allowed through cooling coils and then into the room, whereas in a dehumidifier the air is passed over cooling coil and heating coils and then is allowed inside the room as much dryer air.

Air dehumidifiers are one of the most significant objects of our life which helps in keeping our house and rooms clean from germs and are mostly found to be transferable machines.
