Air Mauritius On Road To Recovery With Seven Step Plan

Due to the situation with the global economy, and with Europe in particular

, as well as the fact that fuel prices are soaring, the travel industry faces a number of challenges. There are many different airlines that have been affected by this crisis and Air Mauritius is just one name where there has been a negative effect on the company's bottom line. However, Air Mauritius is determined to turn things around and has decided to implement its own seven step plan to ensure it recovers.

With the first step having already been put in place, there has been an increase in capacity of three percent and they have also seen growth in short as well as medium flights. Starting from October 2012, the company are planning to operate 10 flights from Johannesburg every week with extra capacity during the peak holiday periods. There will also be more competitive rates to a variety of international destinations such as Kenya, China, Australia, London, Malaysia, Reunion, Paris, Singapore, Madagascar and India.

Air Mauritius has decided to suspend routes which are making a loss and these include Bangalore, Milan, Durban, Geneva, Frankfurt and Munich. However, flights to destinations such as Shanghai, Cape Town, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, St Denis, London, Mumbai, Johannesburg and London have all been kept and they will make every effort to reinforce them.

This seven step plan should see the company start to recover and bring more tourists to the wonderful islands that make up Mauritius.
