Al Pacino's Best Performances of the 80's Watch in HD
Al Pacino stands one of today's most watch-able and well-known actors in Hollywood. There are several Al Pacino performances that are memorable for viewers all over the world. Who could ever forget his performance in "Serpico" as an undercover cop that tries to clean up the police force; or his performance in "Dog Day Afternoon" as a man who robs a bank in order to pay for his lovers sex change operation. And of course, who could forget his performance as Michael Corleone in the immortal trilogy "The Godfather". These terrific early performances set the stage for some fantastic Al Pacino feature film in the 1980s. Atop the list of the best Al Pacino films of the 1980s sits possibly the greatest Al Pacino film ever made. A film that has been seen by nearly every person on the planet: "Scarface".
"Scarface" is without a doubt the most memorable and possibly best Al Pacino performance in Hollywood history. Al Pacino's portrayal of Tony Montana, the Cuban immigrant who quickly moves his way up the mobster ladder, is one of the most imitated performances of all time. It is rare that people actually remember character names from a movie; usually people only remember the actors. This movie serves as the major exception. Everyone who has seen "Scarface" remembers Tony Montana. In fact, a majority of us wish to be more like Tony Montana. He's a man who takes charge of every situation. Although he isn't an extremely smart man, he carries himself in a somewhat intelligent manner. But above all he is assertive. He doesn't wait for things to happen, he makes things happen. It's amazing to think that this movie was actually a dud when it first hit box offices. Audiences were turned off by the gruesomeness and confusing behavior that Tony Montana displayed. Many critics and pundits have stated that this movie was simply a little bit ahead of its time. One thing is for sure, Al Pacino's portrayal of Tony Montana will live on long after we are gone. If you have not seen this movie already, make sure to stay glued to your satellite TV guide channel until you see a listing. Being a classic, the movie is shown quite regularly so you can probably see it even without a premium cable or satellite TV subscription.
"Scarface" was the jewel of the 1980s; however, Al Pacino also had a memorable performance as Detective Frank Keller in the crime thriller "Sea of Love". Keller is a detective in New York who has been on the force for over twenty years. He struggles through the trial and tribulations of his wife leaving him all while having to look for the newest homicidal maniac. He ends up falling for the prime suspect of the crimes but his investigation in jeopardy. Al Pacino delivers yet another brilliant performance in this must see hit movie.
Overall, Al Pacino is one of the greatest actors in TV or cinematic history. He has delivered numerous hits throughout the last four decades and the 1980s is no different.
