. Her full name at the time of her birth was Alison Brie Schermerhorn. Alison is best renowned for portraying goody two shoes Annie on the National Broadcasting Companies new comedy, Community and also portrays Trudy Campbell on Mad Men. She commenced her early acting work on stage on the Judaism Community Centre in Southern California. Her very first role ever was as Toto in the Wizard of Oz. I think because of the nature of the television shows, 1 is a hard-hitting drama & the other is a comedy... And also, so yeah, that, and they're so different... On 'Mad Men,' to me, in my experience, it's really very focused. We all have such a great regard for the work as well as the writing & everything, and for each other and everybody that is doing the job on the tv show that there is this kind of quiet intensity on the set. And everybody's so nice & good-hearted, however it's merely that the content is so heavy."

Alison Brie is a self confessed sentimentalist confessing she cries rather easily in movies or even previews. When questioned in a recent interview what the last film to make her cry she pointed out "a good tune really does the trick" or a Sandra Bullock film preview as another instance! On a more serious note she also referred to as the motion picture Inglorious Bastards as a movie that touched on her Judaism heritage.

Although her mum was not strictly religious Alison claimed she was brought up by a proud Jewish mother and the World War Two references in that specific film were very important to her; "It made me think of all the folks, Jews and also other minorities, that were secured in burning structures, or showers stuffed with poisonous gas and inserted in that same position," says Brie adding, "Never have I experienced such satisfaction or retribution watching a film".

Of her character Alison Brie states, "I think that Annie still has got a lot of developing to do. I get pleasure from observing Annie kind of move through various stages and getting together with different men and having different fads, but she is such a malleable character that I would simply like to see unique things unveiled which she can try, simply because anything Annie attempts she genuinely will go for it." Brie also confesses to living to some degree vicariously through Annie declaring, "It is enjoyable to see Annie blossom out of her shell. She's turning out to be more of a lady, romantically. And in other ways growing old. And that is certainly enjoyable to play, to go back to that period and experiencing everything for the first time & think of your first crush, and your first make out. It makes it a entertaining character for me to play simply because she is so innocent & frequently finding out so much about life."
