The Art-Deco Era was one of the most preferred designs in America

. It was based on ideas of the future and was built mostly on the imagination of the designers. The modern ideas then were mostly to do with furnishings that had soft edges and upholstery that was in bright colors. This style in general, and not pertaining to furniture alone, was all about things that were elegant and sophisticated. They had a hint of modernism too because the materials used were woods that were exotic and plastic.

This was because the styles and designs mostly had lines that were simple and geometric. The common features were sunbeams and spires of silver. Materials like the skin of sharks and snakes were commonly used in this style and so were leaves of gold and silver.
