All About Past Lives Reincarnation

At the time of death the soul leaves the body and re-enters a new body and this is referred to as reincarnation

. There are people who believe in past lives reincarnations and believe that the soul goes through reincarnation process.

It is mostly those who follow the Hindu religion who believe in this. Hindu religion has a belief that reincarnation occurs because of the soul and karma, the deeds that one does during his lifetime. It is in the Hindu scriptures that the soul is eternal and does not die; it only changes its form by entering into different human bodies.

In different lifetimes the physical body and personality changes, nonetheless the soul remains constant and there are new lessons with each reincarnation.

According to the theory of reincarnation the soul takes the shape of several physical forms for a long time till it frees itself of the necessity of being in physical form. During this point of time the soul leaves the physical plane for the last time to enjoy eternal bliss. There are some who disregard the theory of reincarnation and show no belief in this theory. There are some who believe that past occurrence has an impact on our current lives. The reasons that we undergo poverty, illness, depression, etc in our current life is all due to the karmas of the past life. This concept is explained further by Hypnotic therapy like regression.

The concept of reincarnation or rebirth was taught by Buddha and the basis of this was on meditation and his own direct experience. It is through meditation that many Buddhist Yogis developed their capability to remember the past lives of others and their own. It is through meditation that we could also develop a similar deep level of concentration. If we were to believe teachings of Buddha on reincarnation and according to the law of karma our mental capacity increases gradually and we will be able to perceive our lives in the past and future.

Metempsychosis or transmigration is other names that reincarnation can be referred to. It is not necessary that reincarnation takes place only in human form. It can also take the form of plants and animals. This depends on the religion or philosophy. We have already seen above that reincarnation works toward ultimately escaping from the karma of birth, death and rebirth.

The deep rooted faith in this philosophy is by religions like Hinduism and Buddhism. On the other hand there are people who have no faith in this philosophy of rebirth or reincarnation, they simply disregard this philosophy.

There are some programs that have been shown on the Indian television which reiterated the philosophy of past lives reincarnation. Through the process of hypnosis people have proved that reincarnation exists and there are people who take different forms. The two different schools of thought are still present on the past life reincarnation theory - one which supports it and basically stems from Hinduism and Buddhism and the other school of thought which shows no faith in this theory.
