. Made up of Silica, this is one of the most used minerals as it is available in a number of forms. Quartz is found in the shape of a crystal and is mostly used for making statues and jewelry. It is mostly found in carbonate and sedimentary rocks.
Properties Of Quartz:
Quartz stone is usually vitreous and transparent.
Quartz is also found in some colors, the most common being purple, pink, grey and brown.
Quartz is made of crystals and depending on the size of these crystals, it is of two types. These types are macro-crystalline and microcrystalline or cryptocrystalline.

Certain parts of radio and television sets are also made from Quartz.
