All About Sculpture
Sculpture is the art and science of building
, constructing, or molding a replica of the artist imagination or a product of a complex whole within which a piece is taken from. Sculpture encompasses anything made from commonly-used material which is either a wood or metal. The artist uses a wood or metal for sculpturing something or someone to preserve the piece of art for commercial purposes.
Since the process of going a sculpture is so versatile that it takes a while, it would be well-deserved for an artist to keep his/her work of art for self-consumption or for private viewing. We might wonder how to do a sculpture? What is a general process to make one piece? Let us take a closer look how a sculpture is being made. First before anything else will be put to test, the artist decides for a theme or the inspiration to do a
Sculpture .
Normally there is a dummy thing for a sculpture to go with. It normally varies, sometimes it is a photograph of someone or something, or it might be a product of the artist's imagination. After which, the artist will decide for the material to be used. The material that will be used will be based on the usage of the sculpture. Will it be put indoors or outdoors?
Will it be as decoration, or a highlight for an event? Whichever works the artist will decide for the best material to be used. However, if the sculpture will be in use privately, it will be the owner who will be deciding which material to use since they will only be paying the artist for that piece. The sculpture will be started after they set the end date.
For commercial sculptures, they will set a contract to how much will be the cost and when will be the completion date of the sculpture. The artist has to work under time pressure during these times. Since a sculpture is not easy to form, there are sometimes trial and errors with the artist to estimate the dimension of the sculpture, whichever works. They wanted the piece to be perfect in any angle so they have to set the dimensions and follow it for the efficiency and quality of the work.
The artist will apply everything on the sculpture for it to look perfect for the human eye to see. The artist may also do same alterations from time to time, and does some finish on it after everything has been established and every standard has been reached. The process of making a sculpture is not easy before it will be handed down to the owner.
It requires patience, heart, and skills to be able to finish one
Sculpture . If your heart is really not into it, you might end up giving up after a couple of alterations. Being a sculpture is an unstable course as well. However, for an artist, if your passion is into it you find self fulfillment, self satisfaction and happiness on what you are doing. You might think after each work piece, that sculpture is worth it.
