Handycams have gone through several changes and one of the most pronounced and sustained themes of these changes has been the reduction of size with the increase in the number of features that are included in the handycam. The main problem though with these handycams is that they record on 8mm format. Ironically, this is also a plus point. The bad part about recording in 8 mm format is that this video cannot be played in the normal VCRs and must be converted to VHS so that it can played. This is what makes the 8mm video player so convenient. This is a device that will allow the viewer to directly play the video that is recorded on the 8mm format cassette without the need to convert it to the VHS format which is a very long and tricky process and can sometimes also resutll in inferior quality of recording.
