All About The Mickey Mouse Toaster

. Mickey Mouse is one of the most beloved cartoon characters ever and children and adults alike are still thrilled when they see Mickey.

Mickey starred in the first ever cartoon with sound. The movie, Steamboat Willie, became an instant hit with Mickey symbolizing everything Walt Disney stood for especially the fact that the whole family, regardless of age, could enjoy him together. Mickey Mouse was born during a four day train ride in 1928. Walt was only twenty-six years old at the time and intended to name the mouse Mortimer. His wife suggested Mickey instead and Walt agreed. Before they knew it, Mickey was famous beyond their expectations and Mickey's popularity continued to grow. Four years later, Walt Disney received an Oscar for his creation.

One of the latest additions is a four slice stainless steel toaster. The slots are large enough to fit a nice thick piece of bread or a bagel. It has five browning settings, a defrost setting, a self-adjusted auto-centering guide for even browning, a removable crumb tray, a lighted switch and an extended lift control for easy removal of hot toast. The Mickey Mouse toaster will toast Mickey's face onto one side of the toast and when the toast pops up, the Mickey Mouse Club March will play (this feature can be turned off if you prefer).

The handle is in the shape of Mickey's head and the browning control dial is in the shape of Mickey's hand. The toaster's side has a head shot of Mickey's face. There is also a smaller version of this toaster that has only two slices. The four slice toaster is approximately sixty dollars and the two slice toaster is approximately forty dollars.

Another two slice toaster is the Villaware Mornin' Mickey Mickey Mouse toaster. This one also plays the Mickey Mouse Club March when the toast pops up and it has extra wide slots as well. The browning control has five settings and the toaster includes a crumb tray for easy cleaning. The toaster is made of stainless steel. There is a great colored picture of Mickey on it with the word Mornin'. An imprint of Mickey's face appears on the toast when it pops up. The price is approximately sixty dollars.

There is also the Pop Art Mickey Mouse toaster. This one is bright red and includes four stencils so you change the image that is imprinted on the toast. Mickey, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy are interchangeable and you and your children will have a great time deciding who you are inviting for breakfast each morning. The toaster is made of plastic, has seven browning levels, a removable crumb tray and cancel and reheat options.
