The album This is Me Then was released in 2002, at the time when Jennifer Lopez was a ubiquitous figure in the media and pop culture. She was in the midst of a highly publicized relationship with actor Ben Affleck, who was her fiancee. She even included the song, Dear Ben, on the album, directly addressing her relationship. Much of this album centered on the relationship, which was dubbed Bennifer by the media.

Her engagement to Ben Affleck unfortunately deteriorated in the wake of the poor reception of their film Gigli, which failed to meet expectations both critically and in sales.

The album This is Me Then, on the other hand, was received well by critics and performed well on the charts, debuting within the top ten in the Billboard charts. Other singles from the album include Jenny From the Block and Im Glad. All I Have was the albums second single and reached the number one spot on the Billboard charts.

The A Dios Le Pido lyrics were written by popular Latin artist Juanes and recorded on his Un Dia Normal album. The song garnered him his fourth Latin Grammy for Best Song. Un Dia Normal is his second album. His first album, Fijate Bien, recorded by Universal Records, granted him his first three Latin Grammys, including Best New Artist, Best Latin Solo Album and Best Rock Song.

Juanes was born in Colombia to Latino farmers. Although he loved music from an early age, it wasnt until he was fourteen that he discovered hard rock music, which also influences his music.

Juanes started the music group Ekhymosis, which enjoyed some success in its short run. The band blended funk and flamenco fusion. When the band disbanded, Juanes decided to go solo and moved to Los Angeles, where he picked up yet even more musical influences, including R&B and hip-hop. When he gave his demo tape to an Argentinian producer living in Los Angeles, it became an open door to a whole new career.

A Dios le Pido, the single of his second album, peaked at the top spot on the Colombian charts for several weeks. The song also performed well in Spain and other South American countries.
