All You Have To Do Is Believe

It's been said that all it takes for a person's life to take a 360-degree turn is to repeatedly chant "Thoughts Become Things". Or at least that's what I inferred from The Secret. Admittedly, I once was a believer. Well, until I figured that the best part of believe' is the lie'.

The Secret created much stir upon its introduction to the public in 2006. That Secret which was only made known to prophets and sages traveled through the centuries' and was finally revealed to create a new era for mankind'. What's the big Secret, you ask? Law of Attraction, that's what. People, events and circumstances are attracted into our lives because of our own doing. How so, exactly? Well the book says the trick lies in believing, and rather firmly at that. We just have to believe that the things we desire are already ours from healthy relationships to good health. "Thoughts Become Things" so you better think good things, believe they're already yours and you're all set.

With The Secret in mind, I believed that I was in the best of health. You see, I'm a walking ailment-magnet that I could ingest disease in passing. You name a health condition and I most prolly have it. My ailments run the gamut from simple sinusitis to complicated fibromyalgia and boy have I spent good money in attempting to cure my wide array of medical conditions! You can only imagine my joy in learning that I could skip on fibromyalgia acupuncture, back pain therapy and laser lithotripsy among other treatments. All I needed to do was believe I was in perfect condition, a healthy woman in her prime, if you will.

I was that confident in my belief, I tell you, that I cancelled my monthly acupuncture for neck and shoulder pain, much to my physician's surprise. Who wouldn't be taken aback considering those acupuncture for rheumatoid arthritis treatments were like life support for me in the not-so-distant past. With The Secret, I thought I could do without all health-related shenanigans, herbal treatment for infertility included.

I went on living out my "Thoughts Become Things" mantra even when I wasn't seeing commendable results after what seemed to be forever. Fellow believers said to never doubt The Secret's ultimate power so I carried on thinking I was a healthy woman in her prime' even when intense pain in almost all parts of my body proved otherwise. Maybe not thinking about the pain would help. What pain? I was in denial. Well, until the time came when I couldn't get out of bed.

I believed, that I did believed it was time to have treatments again to be an actual healthy woman.
