Intensive driving course have been available for a long time and are becoming more

and more popular lately as people need to get things done quicker.

Intensive driving courses are a very good way to learn to drive if you need to pass your driving test as quick as humanly possible! There are a whole range of reasons why you may wish to have an intensive course rather than the traditional longer route of a driving lesson a week for learning.

One of the very main reasons is that the driving instructor aims to get you passed and gaining your full licence all within just one week. If you were to only have one lesson a week, it would take you, on average, around 14 months have the same amount of lessons as you would in a week's intensive course.

Some people opt for this as they may have taken a driving test previously and failed and need the extra boost in confidence that they may find it gives them. It can be beneficial for students who wish to pass before they go off to university for instance.

You will have to have passed your theory tests prior to commencing the course as on the last day of the course you will have your practical driving exam which cannot be passed until you have passed your theory. When passing your theory you can buy a range of books and cd's to help you revise.

Once you start the course, dependant on the driving school, you will be driving for between four to six hours. Sometimes less than this. The amount of tuition you have will depend on how much driving practice your tutor thinks you need.

You will have regular breaks during the day as you will find it quite tiring and it is dangerous to drive for extended periods of times without breaks. Most schools will provide you with refreshments throughout the day or you can bring along your own food if preferred.

Some larger driving schools offer residential intensive courses where the cost of the lessons, test and accommodation is all under one bill. This can be useful for learner drivers if you need to learn quickly and especially if there is not an option to do this close to home. Most provide very adequate sleeping arrangements and great washing and shower facilities, the ideal way to prepare so you are on site the whole time, instead of commuting.
