You should already know by now that these stones can block the flow of urine. You don't want this obstruction to occur since it is a very serious condition. Emergency surgery may be necessary to unblock this obstruction. If there is also an infection of your dog may need to take antibiotics.

Owners can do certain things to help keep their dog from developing bladder stones. You should only feed quality food to your dog. The presence of too many minerals like calcium and magnesium in your dogs diet can lead to the formation of these stones.

Dogs also need to go to the bathroom regularly, so they will need access to the outside. Is not a good idea of the bladder to stay full for a long period of time. Dogs also need exercise on a daily basis.
