As fun and exciting as camping holidays are, being woken in the early hours of the morning by one of your children complaining they are cold is best avoided. As such, selecting the right sleeping bags is another all-important decision.

Staying comfortable is essential, and in this regards an air bed is handy to rest the sleeping bags on. Other basic equipment to be sure you have packed and secured include a kettle, sturdy plastic cutlery and crockery, towels, bedding and pillows. If you are going to do a lot of cooking yourself, keeping things simple is the best way forward, and having a sharp knife is essential.
