You don't hear the term "otolaryngologist" thrown about very often, as most people find it much easier to call these physicians by their common name: ear, nose, and throat specialists. While they cover all manner of illnesses that affect the breathing passages, it certainly wouldn't be out of the question to refer to one as an allergy doctor. They certainly have the experience and training needed to diagnose and treat those allergies that affect their main organs of interest, which just happens to be most of them. Sinus allergies are among the most common forms, and they can also be the most frustrating to deal with. An otolaryngologist can diagnose one, find out what's causing it, and treat the problem accordingly.

The Dermatologist

Not all allergens manifest a reaction in the breathing passageways. In many cases, the problems occur in the skin in the form of rashes, hives, and other itchy and unsightly patches. Performing a secondary role as an allergy doctor, a dermatologist will often diagnose these skin allergies and find ways in which to treat them. There is certainly no shortage of substances that can cause these reactions in certain people. Latex is among the most common. Certain cosmetics and detergents aren't far behind.

An Allergist-Immunologist

The name, of course, is a dead giveaway in this case. An allergist-immunologist is a specialist that can be called an allergy doctor with no reservations at all. His primary training has come in the study of allergens, as well as the immune system in general. If one of these physicians can't figure out how to treat your allergic reactions, you may be a medical anomaly. Hopefully, that's not the case, and you can find the diagnosis and treatment that lets you live happily alongside a very frustrating condition.
