Travelling by train will be perfect mode for old aged and families with kids as the journey time is about 27 hr at a fare of INR 461 and there are several trains that offer service in this route. Travelling by bus is not recommended as there is not direct bus route from Kolkata to Chennai. The best time to visit Chennai is October to April.
