Altek will Release Android Smartphone with a 14 Megapixel Camera in 2011

Altek Company continues to work on Leo smartphone based operating system

The first information about it appeared in May of this year, but then the company has decided not to extend over the characteristics of the device, but now its representatives have provided more detailed information about the possibilities of Leo.

It is noted that the used camera significantly exceeds the capabilities of similar devices used in other smartphones. Thus, the camera uses a 14-megapixel CCD sensor, a lens with 3 x optical zoom (36-108 mm in 35 mm film equivalent) and built-in Xenon flash. Camera in addition to photographs also supports video recording in the resolution of 720p.

Altek Leo smartphone is designed to work in networks 3.5G (HSPA / WCDMA). It is equipped with 3.2-inch WVGA touch screen with support for Multi-Touch, wireless module Wi-Fi, GPS navigation module, an accelerometer, a digital compass, a slot for the installation of microSD memory cards up to 32 GB.

The device uses an operating system Google Android 2.1 (Eclair) and supports the possibility of working with email, browser, services, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr. Also, the new product is implemented the ability to play multimedia content, editing, shot photographs, handwriting recognition.

Currently, the company Altek searches for partners for the implementation of the smartphone Leo. It is expected that its sales will begin in the first quarter of 2011, but the recommended retail price of the device is not reported.
