According to The American National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) some of the unconventional methods for treating illness are Homeopathy, Osteopathy, Chiropractic medicine, Naturopathy, Herbalism, traditional Chinese drugs, Ayurveda, Meditation, Yoga, Hypnosis, Biofeedback, and Nutritional-based therapies. Among the various alternative medications some have been absorbed into the conventional treatments and are known as "complementary medicines", for example - Acupuncture. These courses teach diverse ways of healing the body and mind, and are increasingly being taken up by youngsters as career options.

Today there are many institutes that offer alternative medicine courses. The main reason behind proliferation of such institutions is said to be the increase in people's beliefs over holistic treatments. According to a study published in The Daily Mail, the British unconventional drug market has grown in the past two years. This is because, while the alternative drugs induce both mental and physical healing, they do not have any adverse side effects. This makes it acceptable to most people across the globe.

Thus, to cater to the growing needs of people who are availing holistic medications, many institutions have opened up for the induction of alternative medicine education. With the growth of the unconventional drugs industry there is an ever increasing scope of a successful career in this field, which is attracting many youngsters to pursue alternative medicine courses. As these holistic treatments are not restricted to any corner of the world, medication through yoga and meditations has huge demand all over the world.
