Always Hiring In Hays Medical Center
In 2008 the Hays Medical Center or HMC was very busy. That year there were seven new employees. It was mentioned by the director of medical staff development that they had a lot of fun. Previous to the new recruits there were about seven new physicians began work in 2007. These hires included two interventional cardiologists, two pediatricians, a general surgeon and an orthopedic surgeon.
Even after recently adding so many new physicians in such a short amount of time, the recruitment efforts show no signs of slowing down. There are about six positions open, including an orthopedic spine surgeon, a family medicine position and a radiologist. There was a high umber of hired doctors that year since HMC implemented a hospitalist program that October. This program was all about providing health care to inpatients especially from those outside of Hays who might not have a local primary caregiver.
Implementing the program opened six new positions four of which have been filled the year before. The program was complete with people after the end of the summer. They had more starting doctors them normal with the hospitalist program. The hospital saw a big group of physicians that year.
In order to lure in more people the hospital used online communication. As the nation is experiencing a shortage of medical professionals which is expected to reach its height in 2020, recruitment is becoming more difficult. The director added that they have to work a little harder, trying new things and discovering the Internet as a kind of an ever changing resource. Hiring the best and the brightest will require you to always have information.
It is best if you are able to offer tours to hopefuls so they will know what the place looks like and what they are in for. One thing that can be hard is to get someone to take that leap and come and visit. Upon visiting they will be able to see their facility, meet the medical staff, see the community and all the different things they have going on. The people will note how dynamic and fun the place is.
Recruiting someone will also mean seeing if they fit the community as Recruitment is a community effort. Apart from that other facts to look into are excellent credentials, and a fit into the medical center and their particular practice. It is physician recruitment and retention is the two main things that they have to be successful at the center realized. So far, they've been successful at getting people to consider them.
