The mountain peak Kibo is visible mostly in the early morning hours upto about 11am and you may have to leave nairobi early to get there on time to see the ice covered peak of Kilimanjaro. The mountain feeds the amboseli park with clean cool waters from its melted snow caps which flows by gravity into the park through underground rivers. It is this cool and fresh water that attracts such a massive number of elephants and other animals as well.

You will also go on the observation hill and watch the whole of the amboseli park from a high ground. This will allow you to see all the swamps and the elephants including the hippos which you couldn't see while on the game drive. The foot of Kilimanjaro is also very visible from here.

Its time for lunch and you will go to the Amboseli Serena lodge for lunch and then go for a short game drive enroute to nairobi at 03:30pm. You will look out for buffaloes, giraffes, and cheetahs to the south of Amboseli as you leave the park.
